Where is Chanel Speedy in the crowd? |
Change is here as Barack Obama was sworn in as President January 21, 2009 What an historical start to the week, as Monday was the observation day of a great fallen leader Dr. Martin Luther King and Tuesday was the day that Barack Obama gained a new title. I am fortunate enough to have lived to witness this event within my lifetime. Many of our ancestors have paved the way for this day to come. There were chants, smiles stretched upon cheeks and tears that filled many eyes because many did not believe they would ever see this day come. Many analogies, metaphors and songs have been made in reference to capturing this part of history.
It is a new day and we as a people within this nation can analyze our 44th Presidents actions, accomplishments, steadfast skills and sacrifices he made in order to hold the mighty position he earned. His success should be a lesson to all of us that although we have trials in our life, we can still rise above the obstacles presented and create our own path.
Many gathered in Washington D.C. to capture and take in history; as it was being made and to take pictures and videotape the events surrounding a pivotal mark in the United States of American History. We as a people are considered equal we sat, marched, and overcame inequalities it is now our turn to rise. The only person who is standing in the way of your success is yourself. Obama can bring Change; so what will you contribute to his cause?
