Barack Obama wins the 2008 election

History has been changed and made this election as Barack Obama was elected to be the 44th leader of the United States of America. Senator Barack Obama has captured the new title of President as a record breaking creditial, he surpassed the electoral vote tally mark.

As many of our ancestors have paved the way for this day to come with courageous acts for a better tomorrow in the likes of but not limited to: Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell throughout history has paid off. 'YES WE CAN' was the slogan being shouted at the beginning of the counting however, as the final votes came in 'YES WE DID' was the message brought across.

Obama has been embedded in our hearts as he gave us 'Hope' and stressed the need for 'Change' during his campaign trial faithfully. As of January 20th of 2009 Barack Obama, will be sworn in and the official ceremony for appointment to lead our country we will witness.

The Har lem State Building was filled with supporters cheering and crying tears of joy filled many eyes of those who thought that they would never see this day come in their lifetime. It was a star studded live event and it could not have been a more of a historic place to hold such a welcoming. Being first is always impressionable as a feat being conquered seeming to be impossible was tackled. This was not just a win exclusively for a culture, race or a color but a new beginning for us as a people living within the nation; it is a NEW day.
